Along the southern border of the US and Europe, a long and racist history are perpetuating inhumane violence. Author and Professor from University of Hawaii, Reece Jones, shares some of the history of the United States progression of exclusiomary imigration policies - equipping our listners with historical contexts and foder for interventions towards systems level change. Iason Apotoloupolos a Alfred Landecker Democracy Fellow and rescuer with Mediterannea recounts the atrocities facing migrants coming from Libya to Europe and the inhumane policies enacted by the EU. He leaves us with the proposition that the threat to any state is not refugees but the mindset that believes they are a threat - how we treat refugees is a measure of our humanity. What this all means for design is for our listners to reflect.
