De Slag om Korsun is één van de meest dramatische episodes die zich tijdens de oorlog aan het Oostfront hebben afgespeeld, een strijdtoneel dat toch al niet arm is aan dramatiek. In de bittere kou van de winter van 1943/1944 zaten bijna 60.000 Duitse soldaten gevangen rondom het stadje Korsun. Omsingeld door het Rode Leger. In deze aflevering antwoord op de vragen hoe deze situatie had kunnen ontstaan en hoe het afliep met de omsingelde Duitse soldaten.
