Hey Disney fam!
1. Today, we learned that Disney/Pixar's Onward will feature an animated short before it begins...and it will star...The Simpsons! I don't know about you, but that's pretty wild to me.
Basically, a series that has made fun of Disney in the past, like a lot - and is now owned by Disney - will play before the latest major Disney release in theaters. Crazy times we live in, y'all!
2. While not exactly new news, we also know now that Onward will also feature the first openly LGBTQ animated character in a Pixar film. Live-action films - Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Beauty and the Beast, to name two - have had characters on the queer spectrum.
But, this is the first animated Pixar character to be openly gay. I, for one, think this is awesome. Equally should be everywhere.
3. And lastly, this week a Jungle Cruise tour boat went for the full experience...when it sunk into the water for real. Twitter video here.
