Religion is something that someone can believe in and gives them a purpose in life. Religious beliefs create a guide that an individual can follow to stay focused in life. Religion allows individuals to reflect on what matters the most in their life. A person needs to feel wanted and needed in life. Having a religious and spiritual life makes everything feel balanced around you. In life, there is something that will stop us in our tracks such as a traumatic experience.
For example, the loss of a loved one, a serious illness, or natural disasters. When you think of the word religion, what comes to mind? Well, Religion involves different things such as cultural beliefs, worldviews, prophecies, revelations, and morals. Each phrase or word that describes religion stands alone. All of them are important in their own way. Religious beliefs can offer someone different things to follow.
In this episode, I will be interviewing Father Maurice J. Nutt who is an ordained priest. He will discuss his life as a priest and his journey as a scholar in the Catholic church. Father Maurice J. Nutt will also discuss his two books which are Thea Bowman: Faithful and Free as well his latest work of art Down Deep in My Soul: An African American Catholic Theology of Preaching.
