On this premiere episode, we talk public safety as Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell holds the first of what he says will be a series of public safety forums on Creating a Safer Seattle. The first forum is held a day after a drive by shooting that injured a Garfield High School student waiting at a bus stop. A short time later a woman is shot and killed near the Garfield shooting. As city officials confront these violent incidents, our conversation focuses on the need for community and parental involvement in dealing with the violence.
