The glass ceiling for immigrants and ethnic minorities is a common obstacle many immigrants encounter in the workplace. However, is this glass ceiling discrimination? In this episode, I explain how immigrants and ethnic minorities can break the glass ceiling in a working culture of diversity where they may face stereotypes. I use sociology to explain reasons for the glass ceiling and ethnic penalty with social and cultural capital for workplace discrimination and workplace stereotypes.
