Unedited Transcript:

Good morning investors. It is Monday. This is Elliot lane with cannabis daily. Thank you so much for tuning in super happy to have you here. We bring your daily cannabis news and stock updates as always. So let's dive right in for the week. Not a ton of news on public companies as this morning that will affect Your investments, but tons of news around the industry. So starting with ironically, after saying that let's start with sundial, S N D L on the NASDAQ sundial growers, their subsidiary sun stream opportunities, which is a subsidiary of sun stream bank, or. Which is an investment vehicle that is set up by sundial receives an investment grade credit rating of B plus by Egan Jones rating company. So far to date sunscreen stream bank Corp has invested $375 million Canadian in companies, such as in diva spirit leaf. They invest mainly in operations, retail, and. The growth in sales of cannabis. In my opinion, this has been nothing but a success on the efforts of sundial and sun stream. And I am for as high of a rating as they give. But I think this is great for the company of sundial. So if there was one company that wins today, it's going to be sundial, just prefacing that for the rest of the news circuit here per Bloomberg.

Cannabis legalization bills must address the dormant commerce clause. The DCC. Is a legal doctrine that bars states from enacting policies that discriminate against interstate commerce to date, many states have simply ignored the policy and set up their own regulatory programs because that's what you have to do in cannabis. And that benefits of course, and promotes local cannabis businesses. However, without addressing the specific DCC. With congressional action after federal legalization, many critical state programs along with their social equity programs may become void overnight, which would be a massive issue. Currently, no bills from either Democrats or Republicans address the DCC.So today it has not been an issue. No, it is an effect. However, does it become an issue upon legalization? Is the question that Bloomberg has posed as a fantastic article. Definitely go check it out. University of Chicago medicine study suggests high purities CBD may block. COVID from replicating. This study was published on January 20th in science advances CBD showed a significant negative association with positive COVID tests in a national sample of medical records of patients taking the FDA approved drug for treating epilepsy. The COVID blocking effects only come from high purity CBD doses that are specially formulated. So if you are looking at gummies from Charlotte's. Or oils from CBD MD or infusion or soft gel tablets. Anything like that? That's not what they're talking about here. They're looking at high purity, specially formulated doses of CBD that are not available on the market because those are not FDA approved as they are talking about an FDA approved drug for treating epilepsy.

So please don't go out and buy. Gummies thinking that they're going to block COVID it's just not true. That in mind. Awesome. Study it piggybacks off of, I believe the Oregon state study that came out a couple of weeks ago. Super interesting CBD is picking up some steam in the COVID the fight against COVID bi-partisan Pennsylvania, Senator senators file a bill for medical marijuana patients to grow their own plants.

Simultaneously in Nebraska, there is an internal feud for medical marijuana, legalization activists say the new GOP bill is a poison pill meant to detract from ballot efforts. So I've seen many bad bills in this industry. I current have not looked at the red GOP bill, so I do not have an opinion, but that being said, it will be interesting to see what moves forward in a more conservative states, such as Nebraska.

Last, but not least most expensive weed in the United States is cannabis caviar, solid alliteration named they're sold for $1,400 per ounce. As a comparison, cheaper weed in Oregon costs about 185. Per ounce, everybody. This is cannabis daily. If you're looking for a stock to look at today, I think sundial is a winner.

Also keep an eye on true leave in Columbia care as they have some movement in terms of shares. But other than that, definitely more of a day for legalization and the study and research and develop. Of cannabis and cannabidiol. Thank you so much for tuning in. We're going to do this four more times this week.

Pumped, let us know what you think. Last announcement I will make is Benzinga cannabis. Capital conference is coming to Miami on April 20th and 21st till rate canopy, sundial. We'll all be there along with tons of others influential executives and investors in the industry. Come meet me there. Tell me you love me or hate me in person, but we'd love this.
