In this fifth episode, Adam Robert Lewis continues his conversation with Philip Griffiths. In Part 1 we discussed Philip’s journey through his training and his early career within Opera.
We pick up with Philip’s first professional job outside of Opera with Barry Stacey's Pantomime, a stark contrast from his days at Glynebourne, however Philip’s tenacity and perseverance shows his ambition to spur himself into a new direction within the Arts.
Philip has gone on to perform in some of the West End's most iconic musicals. Evita, Chess & Phantom of the Opera. Philip joined Phantom in 1990 and is still appearing in the musical to this day.
It's hard to think of the show without his presence in it and he openly talks about what it takes to maintain a contract for over 33 years. We discuss his journey through musicals and Philip gives his top tips for anyone looking to pursue a career in musical theatre!
