I love training montages, nothing motivates me more to get out and try to do something hard than watching Rocky Balboa punch sides of beef and chase chickens! Even hearing the Rocky theme song makes me want to go for a run. Today we get to look into God’s training grounds for one of his most fruitful prophets. But here is what is so cool, though Elijah was fruitful and a part of some extraordinary miracles...Elijah was ordinary. The Bible tells us that he was a man with a nature just like us. (James 5:17) So how did God train up this ordinary man? 1 Kings 17 is Elijah's training montage and in it we are going to see how God’s boot camp is unlike any other.
