While the Coronavirus continues to effect the lives of Americans and Illinois enacts a Stay-At-Home order many worry about the health of their families and the economy. With record numbers of people filing for unemployment in an effort to help his members Raza started a townhall meeting between union members and Jeff Jacobson, speaking about filing timelines, how to deal with state systems crashing under the overload and how to deal with that.
Raza Siddiqui hosts Attorney Jeff Jacobson who worked for the Illinois Department our employment security joins is to discuss what we need to know should we have to file. He also goes over what the order that only “essential workers” report to work translates to.
We also talk about the Governors initiative for serve.illinois.gov to help others in the community as we face this epidemic.
