Rumours of a potential 7-0 turned out to be greatly exaggerated as Man United managed to get their act together and give Liverpool a real game under conditions that probably should have had the game called off.
After a 2-2 draw we try and work out what exactly made this game so different to the routine Liverpool hammerings in Anfield that United have faced over the last few seasons, and how much of it came down to Trent Alexander Arnold being shook up by a very disrespectful transfer offer over the Christmas break from Real Madrid?
Christmas may be over but the PGMOL gifted us VAR controversy galore with a nice mix of very strange incidents we've never seen before, and stonewall handballs that they decided not to give.
All things being fair and equal, Ange Postecoglu insists Tottenham would have won.
It looks like we'll be having some manager movement in the coming weeks as sacking rumours for West Ham and Everton have started to emerge, and NO David Moyes isn't interested ok!
