Attracting teenagers to security work: how is the sector doing?
Manage episode 417920540 series 3572864
Attracting new recruits to the security sector has long been heralded as a challenge. Much more of a hurdle, albeit one that is rarely discussed, is the engagement of those who are teenagers, and particularly those who are most disaffected and at risk of taking the wrong path. On the face of it security would seem to have a role to play, but does it? What does good engagement with teenagers look like? Are traditional recruitment and engagement strategies sufficient? What would need to happen to improve matters?
This webinar will discuss:
- Is attracting teenagers to security work important?
- What works and what are the barriers to engaging the young?
- What does good practice look like?
Panellists:
Houdah Al-Hakim - CEO and Founder, Quick Click Security
Tim Mann - Partnerships, Projects & Training Lead, National Volunteer Police Cadets
Paul Barnard - Founder and Managing Director, Solace Security Consultancy
