In this Episode I unpack another witness who came forward when she heard about Cynthia Vigil escaping from the toy box Serial killer David Parker Ray. According to “The Horrifying Story Of David Parker Ray, The "Toy Box Killer" (allthatsinteresting.com) Angelica Montano was an acquaintance of Ray’s who, after visiting his house to borrow cake mix, had been drugged, raped, and tortured by Ray. Montano was then left by a highway out in the desert. Luckily, she was found there alive by the police, but there had been no follow-up on her case”. The work was just beginning when it came to the victims who he chooses to drug but keep alive. He chose his victims methodically. He was counting on heavily sedating his victims with sodium pentothal and phenobarbital. These drugs are used to sedate his victims with implications that the drugs would cause memory loss like amnesia. These drugs were used to render his victim's unconscious. David Parker Ray was devious because he was always one step ahead of the police. To avoid detection, he made sure to pick out girls that were sex workers and impoverished. He also made sure that bodies would never be recovered in any effort. The only person who knows where the exact locations of the bodies of the lives he claimed is David Parker Ray himself. His acquaintances like his Girlfriend Cynthia Lea Hendy, Jesse Ray, and Dennis Yancy were never able to tell investigators where David Parker Ray hid the bodies. This case takes twists and turns because a Srial killer may go free. Investigators have circumstantial evidence, but they were never able to charge him with the bodies of the women whose lives he claimed. According to “corpus delicti | Wex | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute (cornell.edu) Corpus delicti is a common law Latin phrase that translates to “body of the crime.” The phrase generally refers to the principle that no one should be convicted of a crime without sufficient evidence that the crime actually occurred”. However, David Parker Ray could go free because the witnesses were either sex workers, addicted to drugs, or women he could discredit based on their socio-economic status. I also touch on the importance of consent. According to “Alcohol and consent - The University of Tulsa (utulsa.edu)” “Alcohol and other drugs complicate asking and giving consent. It is important to remember that alcohol is often used to commit sexual violence and is considered to be the most used date rape drug. However, remember that it is not alcohol that causes sexual violence; rather, it is the person perpetrating it. A person cannot give consent if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This includes someone who is passed out”. Consent is another term to learn and always make sure that both parties' consent to sexual activities. The girls were used for his sick sexual proclivities. I dive into the History of his Girlfriend Cindy Hendy because she may have been brain washed by David parker, but she is just as culpable as he was. Cindy displayed the same deprived sexual fantasies as David Parker, so I ask that we not absolve her from her sins. The trial was another shit show and more for the girls who had to sit through the trial to face the accused. Unfortunately, we all have amendment rights. David Parker Ray, Jesse Ray Cynthia Hendy, and Dennis Yancy were all given sentences. It’s up to you if you agree with the outcomes because I don’t. Cynthia has a story of survival, but she goes on to do amazing things with her life. Kelly still battles with internal demons because of what this asshole did. Thank You all again for your support.
