老外来了：我居然被这种人看上了…欧美人的择偶观

今天，我们聊个有点甜的话题——美国的恋爱文化。

1. 主播Selah的love life

感情方面，Selah最近还没有good prospects（好的进展），但也遇到了一点situation（小情况）。有一个男生，was obsessive over her（对Selah痴狂示爱）。但这并不是什么令人心动的事，要知道，obsessive 并不是一个褒义词，它指的是有点“过头了”。这个男生could not stop talking to Selah（不住地和Selah聊天），being around Selah（一直缠在Selah身边），而且还could not control himself in talking to Selah（控制不住地和Selah说话）。

Selah和这个男生是在一个event（活动）上认识的，当时只是briefly talked（简单聊了一会儿），然后，这个男生就开始和Selah套近乎，hecame and sat at her table，asked for her number（要了Selah电话），之后的那个周里，就texted her every day（每天给Selah发信息）。他还followed Selah on every social media（在所有的社交软件上都关注了Selah），比如说Instagram，BeReal。他的这些行为，让Selah觉得so creepy（太可怕了）。

接下来的一周里，Selah在另一个活动上，又见到了这个男生。在Selah和其他人交谈的时候，he kept trying to interject into her conversations（试图插话），并且stared at her from across the room（视线一直在Selah身上）。这让Selah觉得very uncomfortable（很不舒服）。

Selah的朋友也注意到了这个男生的举动，他们都认为这些行为very weird（很怪异），所以都会protect her and helped her leave early（保护Selah，帮助她早点摆脱这种处境）。

Selah has been on dates with someone（也有过约会的经历），她的dates（约会的对象），有的和Selah约着会，还想set her up with their roommates（撮合Selah和他室友）的，还有的kept asking her out after she said no（在Selah拒绝后依然邀请Selah），也有的only would text her but never meet in person（光发信息不见面）。

2. 欧美国家，男女交往中的dos和don’ts（该做和不该做的事）

Dating is a complicated thing（约会是一件非常复杂的事），每个文化中都有一些约定俗成的观念。

l 美国人找对象喜欢什么样的？

他们都很不喜欢dependent（爱依赖人的） or clingy（粘人的） people，都喜欢independent people（独立的人）。Independence is very valued.（独立的人格是非常重要的。）You need to be your own person first, and in a relationship second.（你要先做你自己，其次再进入一段关系。）如果你表现的too obsessed and too interested（对他人太着迷，太感兴趣），那你的“此在”就没有了，或者说有一部分的你不存在了，你会被他人左右你的情绪，正如萨特所说，“他人即地狱”。

像那种志趣相投，but is not exactly like you（和你又有很多不同）的人，是很多人的择偶选择之一，这样两人会有说不完的话，同时能够在一段关系中自我探索与成长。

另一个择偶标准是：they can live life without you （离了你照样能活），并不是完全依赖你。

所以欧美人会非常讨厌在一段感情里，表现出依赖对方，以及粘人倾向的人。

l 在美国人眼中，恋爱关系中有哪些red flags （危险信号）？

(1) Someone that talks to you obsessively. 痴迷地跟你说话的人。

比如说，不停地给你聊天，being around you，that’s too much and very annoying（有点过头了，很讨人厌）。

(2) Someone that wraps their identity around you.个人身份和你息息相关的人。

Everything about who they are is connected to you. 他们是什么样的人取决于你。What they like,what they don't like（他们喜欢什么或不喜欢什么），who they see themselves as（他们怎么看自己） is only connected to you and not to themselves（都跟你相关而不是他们自己）。

(3) Someone that changes who they are for you. 为了你而改变自我的人。

就是为了make you happy而曲意逢迎的人，这种“虚假”并不会让这段关系长久。

(4) Someone who does not have their own friends, interests, or passions.没有自己的朋友，兴趣和热情所在的人。

这种人很boring（无聊），因为没有自己没有热爱的东西，一旦遇到你，就会变得dependentor clingy（依赖你，粘着你）。

(5) Someone that is disrespectful to their family, co-workers, or friends.对家人、同事或朋友不尊重的人。

This is a character problem. 这种人，人品有问题，绝对是big no。

3. 朋友们在恋爱中扮演的角色

Selah的朋友，都是very protective（非常有保护欲）。有时，在Selah goes on a date（约会）之前，他们会想去meet the person。或者，他们会做Selah的wingman（保护者），会确保Selah can avoid someone I do not want to see（能避开那些不想见的人）。

*wingman n. （足球）边锋，这里意指Selah的保护者。

Selah在没跟朋友说某人的情况前，不会go on a date with the guy。而且，也绝不会go official with someone they have not met（跟朋友们还没见过的人官宣）。我们看美剧的时候，也会发现，在美国文化中，男女交往，双方的小伙伴都会起到很大的作用。

4. 美国人是怎么找对象的

像我们有“世纪佳缘”这样的dating APP（约会软件），美国人找对象的渠道也很多，比如说，meet potential partners online using a dating APP（在约会软件上找合适的人），或者是在a club or bar（俱乐部或酒吧），a church event（教堂组织的活动）,a sports team or at work（运动队或工作单位）遇到心仪的人。

美国人交朋友会比较慢热，谈恋爱也是如此，在确定对方成为自己的对象前，一定是they have spent time（他们已经花了一些时间）或者have had many conversations（聊过很多很多次天），要确保了解对方，you are interested（你对对方感兴趣），并且know they are a safe person（知道对方是一个安全的人）。
