It’s the end of the league stage of the tournament and the Vipers have finished top of the six-team table with seven wins from 10 matches. But the regular season has ended with a whimper rather than a bang as the team went down to a nine-wicket loss with 17 balls to spare against the Dubai Capitals in Sharjah.

Coming up we hear from Vipers Director of Cricket Tom Moody, who reflects on a chastening defeat and also looks ahead with positivity to the play-offs to come, and there’s also the thoughts of captain Lockie Ferguson, who looks back on the league campaign and forward to the next stage of the tournament.

And that next stage is, to begin with at least, a Qualifier against the same opponents – the Dubai Capitals at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday the 5th of February as the Capitals’ win in Sharjah meant they leapfrogged MI Emirates into second spot in the table.

The winner of that Vipers – Capitals match will go straight into the final, also set for Dubai on Sunday the 9th of February, while the loser of that match will face the winner of Thursday’s game between MI Emirates and Sharjah Warriorz, in Sharjah on Friday the 7th of February with the second berth in the final at stake.
