In just under 11 minutes, Northeast president Ricky G. Ford gives a brief rundown of everything that is happening at one of the premier institutions in the United States...Northeast Mississippi Community College. In a quick rundown, Ford talks about the plans for graduation on Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13 with the processional beginning at 6:15 p.m. entering the Bonner Arnold Coliseum and the ceremony immediately starting following the processional. During the two-night commencement exercises, Northeast will see approximately 500 students cross the stage to get their degrees and will follow that up with the college's GED/HiSET graduation on Monday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. All graduation ceremonies will air live on NEMCCTV.com and be archived on the college's YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/nemcctv). In addition to reminding listeners of the earlier-than-normal start time for graduation, Ford talks about the upcoming program reviews and encourages all employees to perform continuous evaluations on not only their jobs but their personal lives as well. Ford discusses upcoming events such as the Northeast Mississippi Football Coaches Association high school all-star game that will be filled with a multitude of local high school talent on Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium and the Mobile Learning Conference on June 13 and June 14 online that serves as a valuable resource for our K-12 partners, our Institutes of Higher Learning members and our community college partners on how to incorporate technology in the classroom and instruction. Ford gives a rundown on ongoing construction projects such as the finishing of the Phase II MDOT project that will give the college a safer environment and the beginnings of the Phase III of the project. Ford talks about the former Corinthian Furniture building on West Chambers Drive and changes coming to it and the work on the outdoor classrooms and Seth Pounds Auditorium. Ford addresses athletics that continue throughout the spring such as the Lady Tiger softball team playing the Region XXIII Tournament in Wesson this week (games can be viewed on the Gold Channel of NEMCCTV.com) and two Northeast Tiger linksters qualifying for the NJCAA National Golf Championships in Joplin, Missouri on May 17-20.
