Gracious Condescension - Hebrews 2:5-9 [Expositions]
Manage episode 346361768 series 3317678
The astronomer Carl Sagan said, “Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.” He spoke as a sceptic, knowing the magnitude of the universe but unwilling to believe in the Creator. Though he may be right that science gives no reason to believe redemption will come, God says otherwise. God came to us. Jesus was made lower than the angels. He became like us. He became one of us. And He died for us to save us from ourselves.
