Brandon Lopez is the CEO and executive director of The Embrace Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit that provides insulin and diabetes testing supplies for type 1 and 2 diabetics that can not afford to pay for them. Since being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of seven years old, Brandon has dealt with the financial and healthcare woes that many diabetics in America suffer regularly. Diabetes is the seventh highest cause of death in the United States of America, and in 2018, the Center for Disease Control estimated that 34.2 million people in America had diabetes. That is 10.5% of the American population.
