This week on The Midnight Choir, Isaac and Savannah talk about recent public outcry surrounding a safe consumption site in Montreal's Saint-Henri neighbourhood and federal opposition leader Pierre Poilievre seizing the political opportunity it presents.

After a rocky start following the opening of the Maison Benoît-Labre close to an elementary school, many residents of Saint-Henri, and families of school children in particular, are sounding the alarm. In response, Poilievre took time out of his trip to Montreal to hold a press conference in front of a playground in the area, vowing to close all the "drug dens" (his term for supervised consumption sites) when he is prime minister.

Isaac and Savannah go over the reasoning behind safe consumption sites and harm reduction measures more broadly, how Quebec is responding to the toxic drug crisis, and what's missing from the conversation when politicians play politics on the backs of vulnerable people.
