Welcome to another episode of FCMO Marketing Leadership for Investors in Business. Today we are joined by Mark Plant. He delivers business growth for SME companies.

He specializes in supporting and guiding early-stage and SME businesses with developing and implementing growth strategies designed to help them achieve their goals and objectives.

Background

Mark started his career as a sales director, and he has spent many years delivering turnarounds and business recovery programmes and has considerable understanding and expertise in building businesses and driving business growth. He also has a track record of delivering successful outcomes. His experience encompasses; sales, marketing, operations, finance, organizational structure and in ensuring pro-active and effective commercialization.

Customer service skills

Businesses must address every support moment as an opportunity to acquire, retain or up-sell. Good customer service is a revenue generator. You need to deal with clients or customers. Understand their vision & look into filling the gaps. You need the correct methodology to constantly review the alignment of the product to the market and people On an ongoing basis and take the customers feedback. Develop the product according to the client’s needs with a sense of reality. Implement user groups using the product and manage the expectations of what you can deliver. Encourage people to provide suggestions for product development in the user group. Managing user group correctly can be very powerful. Try to establish consensus for the direction people want to take the product.

Sales engagement process

You must establish the credibility of the services you provide. Get into the conversation with the customer. Demonstrate and have an understanding of what they’re looking for. A leader’s best attributes are having a vision, direction and integrity. Integrity is the key, and it will help build relationships with people so they will come to you when they’re ready to buy.
