This week Nick chats with Julie Claussen about a myriad of topics. We start with how Julie got started in natural resources before moving in to her career with the Illinois Natural History Survey. The conversation then turns towards her role with the Fisheries Conservation Foundation, some of the foundations projects, and the pros and cons of working internationally. We also touch on Julie's passion for science communication, the American Fisheries Society, and DEI efforts in fisheries science.

Main Point: Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!

One of the communication efforts Julie is involved with is the Climate Ambassadors and Climate Fellow Programs through AFS. The Ambassadors program is currently accepting applications for the next class starting in 2023. If you are interested you can find more information at https://climate.fisheries.org/meet-our-climate-ambassadors/.
