Even as the city woke up to an overcast sky with the first pre-monsoon drizzle being reported in isolated places, Thursday turned out to be the hottest April day in eight years. India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Santacruz monitoring station – representative for Mumbai – put the maximum daytime temperature at 38.9 degrees Celsius. The city had on April 22, 2014, recorded a daytime temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. The hottest April day recorded in Mumbai was on April 14, 1952, when the mercury soared to 42.2 degrees Celsius. Tune in with HT's Sachin Kalbag and RJ Rohini to know more!
