Welcome to Golden Boy: An Academy Awards Podcast! Join Moronic Logic monthly as Kenny enlists a rotating co-host from an assemblage of interesting and unique voices to watch every movie nominated for Best Picture in a given year and decide who SHOULD have won the Golden Boy.
We do EVERYTHING in chronological order at Moronic Logic, so Episode 7 takes us to the Seventh Academy Awards, held in 1935, where Golden Boy host Kenny Cahoon and guest host Sarah Louise Reiter must decide which of 12 films is the actual Best Picture. This episode features a discussion on Hollywood's implementation of the Hays Code, women being taken down a peg, and the rise of the romantic comedy. Join us and join in on the discussion! By the end of the episode only one movie (or more depending on how the discussion goes) will prevail and take home the actual Golden Boy.
Sarah Louise Reiter
Well educated, unemployed and unemployable Sarah Louise Reiter is the author of "7 Dances for a Secret Self" available on Model City Press. It's a book of memoir, essay and history, an instructional dance memoir designed to summon spirits with a series of traditional popular dances performed in a prescribed order. Part nostalgia, part alchemy. 52 pages perfect bound, color, text and images.
Intro Music: "Let the Light Shine Through by Reynard Seidel
Outro Music: "Through The Light" by Reynard Seidel
"Auld Lang Syne" (Piano Version) by Megan Woffard
Music through Epidemic Sound
Did you know this show also has a video version on Youtube where you can see our actual looks of disappointment? It's true- support Moronic Logic here with a like and subscribe-
