Eukaryoten haben einen Zellkern, Prokaryoten dagegen nicht. Doch das ist nur einer von vielen Unterschieden. Prokaryoten fehlt nicht nur der Zellkern, sie enthalten gar keine membranumhüllten Organellen. Kein endoplasmatisches Retikulum, keine Dictyosomen, keine Chloroplasten, keine Mitochondrien und so weiter.
