Written and Produced by the man himself, John Hughes, "Dutch" is a 1991 comedy film directed by Peter Faiman. The story follows Dutch Dooley, played by Ed O'Neill, a working-class man who decides to pick up his girlfriend's, played by JoBeth Williams, privileged son, Doyle, portrayed by Ethan Embry, from boarding school and bring him home for Thanksgiving. The two embark on a road trip, and their clashing personalities lead to a series of comedic misadventures. As they encounter various challenges and obstacles, the film explores themes of class differences, family dynamics, and the potential for understanding and bonding between two individuals from vastly different backgrounds.
