Jim Kleiger, Psy.D., author of psychological and psychoanalytical themed/based books, is back on A Fine Time for Healing for a second time. Today he will be discussing his intriguing new novel, Tears Are Only Water. Tears Are Only Water is a mystery with powerful messages of trauma, healing, and transformation. The story incorporates topics such as suicide, narcolepsy, early trauma, maternal narcissism, psychotherapy, death, and indigenous healing. The overall message is that growth is not possible without facing the past and mourning. After many twists and turns it comes to a satisfying , uplifting ending with a profound message about mourning, integration, and personal transformation made possible through a healing relationship. J. Herman Kleiger was born and raised in Colorado. He graduated from Harvard and the University of Denver, before serving as a psychologist in the Navy. A clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst, his major works include Disordered Thinking and The Rorschach, 1999; Assessing Psychosis, with Ali Khadivi, 2015; and Rorschach Assessment of Psychotic Phenomena, 2017. The 11th Inkblot, the book we discussed on this show on July 7, 2020 was Jim’s first novel.
