One of the most famous and impressive symbols of Kyoto, Kinkaku-ji Temple or the Golden Pavilion is beautifully reflected in the pond before it. There are several outstanding historical spots in the neighborhood including Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (the deity of scholarship) and Ryoan-ji Temple (famous for its dry landscape Zen garden).
