Today's episode of Hoodoo and Chill is very special. Today we will be discussing two archetypes of divine feminine energy, who have been venerated throughout the spiritual diaspora as spirit guides. The spirit of La Madama is a very popular image of blackness in traditional Afro-Latino spirituality. However our show today will highlight a second archetype whose imagery is just as popular if not more. We all know her, we have all experienced her energy on some level and many of us as people of color, are her descendants. Although this topic may be triggering for some, uncomfortable for others, this subject is nonetheless important and MUST be discussed. The black mammy, although a heartbreaking image , and a constant a reminder or slavery is stil powerful, important and most important necessary.
